do you feel like swimming?

Apropos of nothing, though I can’t figure out the circumstances under which it would’ve been apropos of something, my mother recently said to me, “When you were a kid, you used to lie on a towel in the living room underneath the ceiling light and say you were taking a suntan.” I had no recollection of this, not even my interesting verb choice, but then, just days later, I came across this photograph, and I realized something:

It doesn’t matter the circumstances, not even if you happen to be in the middle of a room in your house in the center of a land-locked town. Sometimes you just need to be at the beach. Even if you have to make it up.
