O Caritas

Sharon Street

A piece of paper, folded once and left beside an abandoned mattress:

Please look after this bed.

But who would want this ripped old thing?

Not me, you say, as you hurry on by.

But someone did, back in the day. To them it was home, a warm bed, somewhere to curl up at night. A place to sleep, eat pizza, watch late night television, spend hours on the phone with friends. A place to lay out their favourite dress on a Saturday night, somewhere to hide shoes and boxes stuffed full of junk.

All it needs is love and a little restoration.
