On Ice

To walk on water you need great boots*, nerves of steel and perfect poise.

Gloves are not required, they’d merely weigh you down. A greatcoat, though, is an asset as you’ll soon see.

To walk on water there are certain requirements that cannot be skimped on: a dash of imagination and a bucketful of winter.

In truth, to walk on water all you need are boots with good grip, great poise and a perfect stretch of ice.

(*Leonardo had a thing or two to say about the right kind of footwear, though the sketches for his water-tight inventions are more ski than sensible shoe.)
