pinhole 837

It’s been a long hot summer, so the photographer says, maybe that’s why Barbie lay naked on the beach?
But now it’s cool and she’s still out there, her long blonde hair flailing behind her like the crest of an incoming wave.
And someone took a stroll with a pinhole camera. When he found Barbie, what did he do?
He didn’t cover her up, check her pulse or call for help.
He set his camera on the beach and calmly waited while he got his shot.
I feel bad for Barbie, but if he’d moved her when he felt her pulse, if he’d covered her with a checked blanket, he’d have destroyed something.
The clouds would no longer flow out from her hair, her feet no longer shod in damp sand.
Is this how war photographers feel? Do you lend a hand or get your shot?
