I’ve driven this road which goes from here to there, from side to side, north of the hip but south of the neck of England.

I’ve passed this dreamlike figure that emerges, head in the clouds above a forest overlooking a crowded motorway. Eyes shut — the figure, not me, that would be dangerous — oblivious to the comings and goings of people in cars and on coaches. Not seeing us, but we can’t help but notice her.

I’ve driven this road and thought that one day I would stop and find out who she is and where she is and why. I never have found the time.

Luckily, someone else has. And in weather conditions that are a black and white photographer’s dream. Ideal for a sculpture called Dream that’s perfect in black and white.
