Sometimes you see a photo and you like it.
Sometimes you see a photo and it blows you away.
It speaks of dried out mushrooms that leave trails of spores, of decaying wood, of dead leaves. The past unearthed and brought back to life.
Shhhhhh… Can you hear it rustle as a breeze from an open window catches the pages?
Put your ear closer and hear the whispered stories of pipe-freezing winters, of unburied bodies and escaped prisoners.
And when you’re done looking here and you want some more (as I know you will) you can “read all about it”.
And as one thing often leads to another, you can see all the entries to Utata’s big summer project – Just One Thing – and tell yourself that next time you won’t be like me and let home decorating get in the way of the project, you’ll do like Rachel and let decorating (or whatever it is you’re busy with) be the project.
