This is the the lost episode, when Spock alone is beamed down to twenty-first century Toronto, a text book example of a bustling city, on a class M planet. There’s a moment when he looks around bemused, wondering if his location readings are wrong, how else to explain the presence of a highly illogical, rainbow haired hipster? He correctly surmises that his ears are not going to need disguising.
It’s a culture he knows little about, so he rapidly uses his tricorder to data search for the most appropriate information for the city and era… result Bryan Lee O’Malley’s “Scott Pilgrim” histories. Feeling hungry for authentic food he locates the nearest dayglo orange Pizza Pizza; they reheat your slice in the oven here, instead of serving it direct from the glass fronted pizza cage.
The food is a curious balance of nourishing and unhealthy, the drink is sweeter than Romulan ale. Nobody gives him a second glance.
