Sam Turner

us again again

First, there was just us. Then there was us again, followed by us yet again, after which there was us yet again again. Now, of course, there’s us again again.

It’s not really us, of course. It’s Sam, Valerie, Elodie and Manon standing in the Turner garden. It’s not us, but it could be. There are some of us who are very much like their us. There are some of us with gardens and children and laundry hanging in the background. And there are some of us who aren’t at all like us, and likely never will be, and may not have any desire to be. All of us are different, after all.

I like us. I’m inordinately pleased by the existence of us. I hope and expect to see more of us in the years to come. Because there’s something of all of us in their us. And that’s rather beautiful, isn’t it.
