movers and shakers

Midweek, midday, in the centre of Leandenhall Market, there’s a businessman who feels like he has the world by the balls. In the heart of the city, at the core of what was Roman Londinium, he is armed with his mobile and a rolled brolly.

He is Caesar without a horse, shielded by a briefcase that was crafted by eminent saddlers. He was shod by celebrated shoemakers, his suit is Savile Row and his shirt is by appointment to princes.

His wife likes dubstep, and though he hasn’t admitted it, he is frightened. How can they belong together? She is a redhead, and would look stunning in the pearls he gave her, but she like some chav, prefers heavy golden bangles, contorted with celtic knots.
