Two of Us

I’m sorry. I like Mondo Lulu. His opinions on two-wheeled motor vehicles are extremely sound. He knows his way around a camera. His choice/luck in life companions — absolutely exceptional. This photo? Lovely. Wonderful.

But I’m sorry, I think he’s just wrong in giving this a title based on Beatles lyrics. Yeah, I know…it’s impertinent of me to question his title. I mean, it’s his photo. His relationship. And I’m a big fan of Two of Us; it’s a charming song. Cheerful, upbeat, snappy, clever.

But — and I’m really sorry — when I first saw this photograph my mind went somewhere totally different. Hoagy Carmichael and Frank Loesser. 1938. Interpreted by a Norwegian jazz singer. Silje Nergaard. Two Sleepy People.

On this, Mondo is just wrong. I’m sorry. But there it is.
