NZ – On the road
November.12ain

On the road in New Zealand or elsewhere, you might expect to stare out of your car window and find sheep or cattle grazing. You might stop and stretch out your toes into lush green fields that roll away into somewhere called yonder that you’re hoping to get to one of these days.  And as you wiggle your tickled toes and gaze on all that grazing you might spy something that has flown past your car window all week without you ever seeing.

Those trees — now you have time to ponder — are arranged just so.

Like a feather and a sprig of broccoli. A feather and a pine cone. A feather and a buddleia flower.

A feather and a chef’s hat. A feather and a hedgehog. A feather and a knight’s helmet. A feather and a pyramid. A feather and an ice cream come.

And once you start to see all that seeing, you know that you’ll never be able to stop. Not even when the road runs out and the tank runs dry.

Feather and a clown’s hat… feather and an arrowhead…
