Four be the things I’d been better without:
Love, curiosity, freckles, and doubt.

Dorothy Parker was wrong. Flat out wrong, no way to get around it. Love? Everything is better with love, everything. Though yeah, it can also be a massive pain in the ass. Curiosity? Sure, it can get you in a whole lot of trouble, but it’s also what made Einstein wonder why the speed of light is an absolute and got Jacques Cousteau to go swimming and tickled Bilbo out of his comfy hole to see what was beyond the next hill. Doubt? Well, okay, too much of it is a problem, but that murky borderland between belief and disbelief, between trust and distrust, is also the foundation of philosophy and teaches us to ask questions. And freckles? Freckles are charming. Freckles are…oh, I don’t need to defend freckles. Just look at this photo.
