happy tryptophan day!

We do not know Carlos, and yet here he is blissfully oblivious to all that surrounds him. We don’t know if he is a banker or a bank robber, a dad, a deep sea diver, or a ballet dancer. Though in truth, right now, he does not look much like a ballet dancer. We don’t know if he’d prefer to have a cat draped blanket-like across his belly, or a dog curled snorgling by his feet. We don’t know if he rooted for the Bears, or roared for the Lions. We do not want the chatter and clatter of the kitchen to stir him, or the thunk of car doors slamming. More than everything we hope that the click of the shutter didn’t wake him.

For we have all been Carlos.
