I can do no better than the words already twinned with this photo taken from the edge of Lac LĂ©man, on a day when the speed of a boat created silky ripples on denim-blue water.

I don’t know if a scene like this inspired the novel – but little moments such as this can be tiny acorns that seed in a writer’s mind and grow whole stories from them.
