The ocean? You’re seriously telling me if I hold this to my ear, I’m gonna hear the ocean? C’mon.

Do I look like I was born yesterday? This is a seashell. It ain’t no telecommunications device; it don’t have no direct connection to the ocean. It’s a seashell. Okay? The exuded calcium carbonate exoskeleton of a marine invertebrate. I can not believe you’re trying to pull this crap on me.

This is how it’s gonna be, isn’t it. On account of I’m a kid. You’re gonna spend years making stuff up and telling it to me because you think I can’t handle the truth. You and Jack Nicholson. “You can’t handle the truth!” Sure. Keep telling yourself that. But here’s the thing — that X-Files guy? He was right. The truth is out there, and one way or another me and the truth are gonna have to find a way to get along. So there ain’t no point in lying to me, or trying to sugarcoat….

Hey. You know, it does kinda sound like the ocean, doesn’t it. Damn.
