There’s an explanation for this. A perfectly logical explanation. But why would you want one?
Why would anybody want a perfectly logical explanation when there’s an entire universe of imperfect, illogical explanations? Why would anybody willingly abandon all the possible absurd explanations? There is, I know, comfort in the straightforward tick-tick-tick marching orders of logic. But in the irrational, there is dance.
However, if you want logic — if you must have logic — then here it is: The banana is the hypotenuse of the hat and the sleeve.
And if you want an explanation — if you must have an explanation — then here it is (and my compliments to Tweedledee: “If it was so, it might be; and if it were so, it would be; but as it isn’t, it ain’t.“
