Stars made of jasmine

We’re forever being told to stand up straight and set our sights high, like the act of seeking is some kind of moral imperative. Look to the skies, people say, and the faraway hills; gaze upon the majesty of yonder tree! Admire the clouds! Quickly, now, before they pass!

But sometimes we get tired of craning our necks, and our backs begin to ache. We simply must look down now and then, or we’ll stumble. And the best part is that sometimes, when we stop looking so hard, we find our paths littered with beauty that other folks miss.
