unintended art

It feels like a secret, this photograph. A bright, colorful, somewhat haphazard secret. A secret not because it’s kept from others; a secret simply because it’s not generally accessible. A secret because it’s protected, not because it’s hidden away.

It feels like a secret offered up as a gift. It feels like an oblation proffered to some local God of Tiles and Secret Corners; tendered on this particular day, this first day of August, balanced halfway between the summer solstice and autumn equinox.

And because it’s bright and colorful and somewhat haphazard, the secret gift will surely be accepted and received. Because life itself is a bright and colorful, though somewhat haphazard, gift.
