Rainy Day: off to school
Thiophene_Guy

It’s autumn, or fall, depending on where you live. A rainy morning and your child is late. Running for the bus as you wait inside (as instructed) watching.

You remember the days when you’d walk together, kicking through the copper leaves, eyeing up chestnuts to take home and manufacture into weapons using salt, vinegar and a warm oven. You tell yourself it’s nothing to be sad about – those days may be gone but there are new journeys you’ll share together.

You tell yourself not to be sad, not to worry that they’ll miss the bus and be late for school. You stay inside and you ponder on a bright future for your child and use every atom of your body and soul to will it to come true.
