My dears, do you ever wonder if you might be the crazy one, and if perhaps the people directing the world actually do have a plan. Obviously not the plan you’d choose, but nonetheless the biggest plan, an impenetrable, beautiful plan, the best plan ever, or a hard Brexit plan, or a soft Brexit plan, or a whatever soundbite-waffle sounds punchiest plan; and if they promised anything good in a manifesto they plan not to do that plan after all, because, you see, that was never really the plan. Do you ask yourself about that? Do you start to feel like Alice wondering how we stepped through this looking-glass, searching for an escape from the maze. We’re living in topsy-turvy times, you and I, full of alternative facts, and the sky is in the ground and the grass grows upside-down.
Come closer, I want to share a secret.
You are totally sane, you and me both; and Martin is sane, and Debra is sane (it is almost crazy just how sane Debra is). So, if the world feels upside down to us right now, then we’ll just have to learn how to see through this overturned existence, until we can get it flipping upwards again.
