Look at their smiles. Gaze deep into their eyes.

What were they thinking then? Where are they now? Do they still link arms and lean into each other for mutual support?

How did their lives turn out?

Did they dare act out those half-dreamed plans that were hidden beneath generous fringes and bravado-laced grins?

Life has a habit of confounding us, turning our hopes inside out, catapulting our dreams upside down. Life never turns out according to the best laid plans – it twists, it turns and surprises at each and every corner.

If you could go back in time and remember your teenage smiles, your teenage dreams, and then loop forward to the here and now, would your smile be wider, or contracted into a frown?
