Some photos can tell any number of stories, and these well-worn boots contain multitudes:
A long, soft snow.
A sidewalk shoveled all the way to the end of the block and back again. Neighbors that wave hello.
A sled, well used on the big hill down the block, then left upright to dry at the corner of the garage.
A tired, happy dog, warming up indoors.
Some friends. No plans. Dusk setting in.
The glow from a crackling fire.
