Existing Stage Left

Some folk fear the darkness, the isolated night, when spiteful shadows make us into awkward cowards and sneer at our exaggerated fears. Then there is the darkness of gloom and despair; the black dog darkness of pain and loneliness. That darkness which makes you beg for daylight. This is a different kind of dark. Here the shadows take you out from under the spotlight, they are a haven. They point upwards like sheltering tents, they are anonymity, obscurity and peace.
