window + awning

I know it’s just plastic, twisted and sculpted and stretched. I know what we’re seeing in the window, while odd and lovely, is only an interesting use of normal stuff. I know that.

But…what if it’s not? What if it’s…not?

What if it’s actually ectoplasm, whatever that is? What if it’s actually alien in origin? What if it’s part of the web of a mammoth arachnid hundred of years old, and the walls inside have bulging egg sacs, and the shriveled, dessicated bodies of vagrants and fire inspectors hanging from the ceiling?

I know…I know…it’s just plastic. But isn’t there some part of you that hopes wishes fears that it’s not?
