Okay, good news and bad news. The bad news: you’ve already missed the beauty contest for Mule Day 2019. That was on Saturday. The good news:  the Mule Day festivities don’t really get in full swing in Columbia, Tennessee until Thursday, April 4th. That gives you plenty of time to arrange your schedule.

Mule Day has been an annual celebration of all things mule since 1840. But it’s not just a single day event anymore. No sir, no ma’am, it’s a four day extravaganza–beginning at 7:00 AM Thursday morning with a ham and biscuit breakfast at the Maury County Senior Center, ending at noon on Sunday with the awards for the Riding Mule events. In between there’ll be log-pulling, barrel racing, a miniature mule and donkey show, and “the ever popular Panty Hose Race”.

Sadly, Mule Day isn’t an international event, so these two beauties from the Spitalfields City Farm won’t be attending. It’s a shame, really, since I think that grey would have been a serious contender in the swimsuit competition.
