dotintime

moving day

Some of us might prefer to stay well rooted, while others are more like tumbleweed, but however we feel, moving day is inevitably an epic. A chaotic clutch of goodbyes and hellos, everything in boxes, and a life stashed into the back of a truck. There were the moving days when my eyes were gummed with tears, then there were ones when I couldn’t wait to ditch the keys. There was never a move when I saw the packing blankets as a stack of wobbly stripes. There was never a transfer when I felt inspired to create an abstract composition, as bright and mesmerising as a Bridget Riley painting. There was never a relocation when I would have been cool enough to stop everything and shoot this picture. That takes a singular vision. That’s dotintime for you… putting a dot at the end of her moving day.
