chapel in the mist

It seems improbable, or possibly actually impossible, that there is anywhere left on earth like this.

Where there is a chapel on a hill and the misty air layers up the hills and valleys just about perfectly. Where the light is the ideal combination of warm peach, of yellow and of green.

Where there is no other sign of life, not even an old man leading a horse slowly back from ploughing a field.

Yet, if you know where to look in this ever more crowded world, it is there, waiting to reveal itself as long as you have the patience to wait for the light to settle in all the right places.
