peek a boo

A psalm was originally a sacred or celebratory song accompanied by a harp. I’m not sure a harp would best suit this photograph–more likely a soft, moody jazz saxophone, smoky as good whiskey–but there is something almost sacred about the city in early evening, when the lights come on and people gather close together, at home or in a pub, maybe a church or a support group, and share something of themselves with others.

Every lighted window is like a prayer, asking for solace and sometimes receiving it.
