Bio

I am a Scotland-based artist working mainly in printmaking (etching and screenprinting), painting and collage. I edited medical journals and books for years and years, but a visual expression of my scientific interests has always preoccupied me.

The main visual influence on my work was studying biology/biochemistry- an invaluable system of observation and interpretation. Other constant sources of inspiration include beachcombing, travel, music, bookshops, ephemera, the inconspicuous, things misread, out of focus, discarded, Photoshop, Google, wild goose chases, the space between dreams and waking, snippets of conversation, family and friends.

Photography is a fairly recent obsession for me and started with the introduction of digital cameras. So far, I only use a little point and shoot camera, but the ability to carry this everywhere seems to be my main priority at the moment.
