Did the tree break the glass?

Otto owns this land as well as much of the land in the area. Years ago (at least 20, but maybe 30), it became too expensive to heat and maintain the greenhouses. It was also too expensive to tear them down so they were abandoned. Over the years, some of the glass has broken but much of it is still in place. The plants are taking over! The older structures are all wood and the newer ones are metal. The older ones are completely impenatrable and the plants are working hard to eliminate the structures. It reminds me of a book called "The World Without Us".

It's difficult to get the scale of what is happening here.
