When we bought this place, the back was meadow right up to the back of the house. We mowed it to give the kids a place to play and I liked the nice open feel, so I keep it mowed, more or less. The straight line across the yard is a raised bump that I assume is some sort of French drain or sunken wall. To the left is a veritable wall of Japanese bamboo.
