upper back yard

Liz West

This place was a dairy farm until the late 1950s, and when we bought it, it had numerous specialized buildings, such as a carriage shed, well house, chicken coop, ice house, barns, and this silo. Many were attached so that the farmer never had to go outside to get from the house to the barn. The silo was originally covered with board and batten siding, but after a bout with a large colony of rabid bats, we shingled it.
