I love the moment just before I put pencil to paper. My favorite pencils are #2 and not mechanical.

I am a lefty in a family filled with lefties. Perhaps that is one reason why I actually write without curling my hand around in a weird way, although I do turn the paper sideways. My grandfather was probably a leftie who was changed...he was so ambidextrous that he could write two different things at the same time using both hands. My father also used both hands. My brother is a lefty, as is one daughter.
