I was married more than 40 years ago and received this salad bowl as a wedding present. I suspect it was a popular item, because I've seen it in the homes of several of my peers. It's a great shape and size, so I use it often. You can see signs of wear around the edges, where the underlying metal is peeking through the enamel.
