Cherry Blossoms Monochrome

Linus Gelber

The annual blooming of the cherry blossoms at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is, for lack of a better word, exquisite. There's a central gallery with trees framing a central lawn, and a separate Japanese pond (which isn't flowering yet, this week).

After my first pass through the Esplanade I'm a little overwhelmed with all the pink and rose and red, and I set the camera for some peaceful black and white shots. I'm thinking I can use them for a tinting piece somewhere down the line. When I get home I read about the current weekend project for the Utata photo group: black and white flower pictures. Well then.
