Many years ago I was out partying with friends, pulling an all-nighter at the Hacienda, Manchester's famously hip and trendy nightclub. On our way out my pal, Billy, slipped and fell (we were all somewhat the worse for wear). Up popped Mick Hucknall and helped him to his feet. "There you go mate" said Mick, " Be careful". "Thanks Simple" said Billy. "F*** O** if you're going to be like that" said Mick.

I don't know why I tell this story now. It did make me laugh at the time but it doesn't have much to do with the photo except that this little tree seemed to trying to hold back the year, if not the years.
