The top one is a photo I posted previously. The bottom is the original, which I simply inverted to produce the top.
Turning the photo upside-down also gave the strange optical illusion of reversing the detail in the original. The valleys became ridges, the scoops, bulges. Yet the top one made more sense to me; a simple natural drainage channel cut into the Morecambe Bay mud made surreal landscape. I like the diptych too though, the way the lines match up. Yin and Yang. Male and Female.
