April 12, 2011: Offering

Sonya Butler

I had another go at this IP. A week or so ago I got the idea of using a melon. What I thought I would do is take a photo of the melon with a paper crane, sitting in one of those hanging scales you find in grocery stores. And I did do that. I felt very conspicuous - but I did it. Only I wasn't thrilled with the results (the melon rolled over the crane, the scale wouldn't stop swinging, did I mention I felt conspicuous?) so I bought the melon and took it home where I tried balancing it on my head, on a hat, kind of Carmen Miranda style. I'm not sharing those photos.

The elements for Utata's Iron Photographer project 123 are as follows:

1 - origami (or folded paper)
2 - something heavy
3 - sepia
