I just threw this together
Leaf, vine and shadows?

1 - a crescent shape (leaf's shadow)
2 - a leaf (such a pretty leaf)
3 - partially desaturated (less color)

I spent a few hours playing around with crescent shapes, cutting out sticky notes, white paper, in the frame, gobos, you name it. I even thought of using my morning work banana! I decided to put the leaf in the frame for a test shot and, lo and behold, the leaf itself made a perfect crescent shadow - no manipulation necessary!
