She was a laundry maid. He was the grocer's boy who, inspired by her reaction to muscat grapes, became a business mogul with a chain of upmarket greengrocers. The business provides a home delivery service to this day. Long after his death, she still became misty eyed at the merest glimpse of muscat grapes.
