Lucky pebble

I was given this stone by an Italian street performer at the Venice Carnivale in 1993.

I'll never know exactly what the man said when he handed it over but I'll bet it wasn't "one day you'll need this to put in a clamp and shoot on a countertop, all in the name of Iron Photographer 138."
