spots before your eyes

Liz West

As soon as I hear "black and white," my mind adds "and red all over," which were the basic elements of a series of riddles we used to play with when I was a kid. "What's black and white and red all over?" Answers included a newspaper, a blushing skunk or zebra, and a sunburnt penguin. I also use any excuse to get out my dad's go set, with its black and white game pieces. Here I placed a few black ones on some dotted paper. I like how it looks.
