The singular result of 2 separate photo challenges. It's an IP entry, the given elements being....

1 - something that grips
2 - a mirror (or other reflective surface)
3 - black and white

So there's the many hitch knots (1), the reflective surface of the muddy tidal pool (2) and black and white (3).

Also, I had a very nice, very thoughtful and mildly subversive invitation from Martin to take part in something called the International Black and White Challenge, 5 b&w photos posted in 5 days.
