A cuppa hot wabi-sabi? (1 of 2)

Thiophene_ Guy

Practicing for IP 215 again.

Ken Lunders showed us miso wabi sabi that made me wonder how to lens the steamy heat of the liquid. Ideally, one would use a constant backlight and slow shutter to creat wispy tendrils. Having only a flash and the sun I went with a fast shutter to isolate transient patterns in the rapidly rising droplets of water.

Requisite elements:
1 - one or two spoons
2 - something that evokes wabi sabi (hand made cup, steam)
3 - very muted color (saturation -60)

Reminder to self; the gunge on the spoon is salt (calcium and magnesium, aka "hard water"). The water is so hard that merely boiling it causes precipitation. Clean the spoon after it falls in the cup.
