I shoved an Alfred E. Neuman figure in my pocket before going on a nature walk. I was thinking, "find something used in cooking". I found a beautiful, blue robin's egg shell and imagined a few tasteless scenarios, but none worked in color. After returning home I re-read the challenge - "we're thinking tools". Looks like I failed.

Creative licence
Wait a second - does it count as a tool if one uses the shell to separate an egg?.

Utata's Iron photographer challenge 217 asks for:

1 - a cartoon figure (Alfred E Neuman)
2 - something used in cooking (eggshell, in a stretch)
3 - noir (dark and off-kilter)
