autumn laundry

Kim Denise

I was up in the attic to get the holiday decorations and it seemed like a good time to shoot an IP. The laundry basket filled up with leaves on its own; I just moved it into the middle for the photo.

Every year at this time, my yard fills knee deep with leaves from the ancient maples who let me live here. All the light turns to gold. When I step out the door, I feel I am entering sacred space.
