Times certainly have changed.

Utata's Iron Photographer challenge 247 asked for compositions with:

1 - a clock (on wall)
2 - something that could be used as a weapon (radioisotopes)
3 - b&w

"Laboratory experiments with radioisotopes for high school demonstrations" dates to the 1950s and frequently employs an isotope of phosphorus, examining uptake by plants and fish.
