In memoriam, with chain of hearts

barbara ender

My mother's large mixing bowl has come to the end of its life: I discovered it in the drawer, chipped and cracked and no longer of any use. If it's the one my mother had when she was married (I'm not sure), then it has been used to make bread, pastry, cakes, scones, puddings and so on for over 70 years and has been licked out thousands of times. It has a heel so you can stand it on the side for easy beating, and has been in my possession since the mid 1980s.
