A recent NYT article on happiness in long marriages spurred a general thought process for me on what has been successful for my wife and my 20+ years together. The focus on the ring with the out-of-focus trash can makes me chuckle - is the key to a good marriage not focusing on the shitty parts? Or is just knowing who is supposed to take the trash out?
