Please Let Today Be A Good Day...

Shot for the UTATA Photographer 35.

It's been a rough couple of weeks at work. My company as gone through layoffs and now we are in the process of getting to know new people moved into our department. I'm anticipating a long week with lots of long hours. Coffee will be my friend and my comfort food of choice.

I had been doing stuff around the house on Sunday and in the late afternoon finally decided it was about time I shower. I took off my ball cap and headed into the bathroom. When I looked in the mirror at my hair I was immediately reminded, "IP wanted communist hair!" I bounced ideas off the girlfriend and eventually we both settled on this one. I setup the lighting, camera, the beard, and hair. She did the composition and hit the shutter button.

The elements required for this shot:

1. Communist hair
2. A reflective surface
3. Sepia

Strobist Info: Sigma EF-500 DG Super at 1/16 power shot through a 60" Westscott shoot-through umbrella just outside of frame camera right. Triggered via a Pocket Wizard Plus II.

Looks Best Large On Black
